Colour Laser

COLOUR LASERS

Expensive ! but brilliant reproduction and the colours don't 'run' like they do with inkjets. If you are thinking of investing in a Colour Laser, check carefully the comparative costs of toners between different manufacturers. There are 4 colour toners needed -cyan-yellow-magenta-black...known as CYMK. Some manufacturers make the black toner larger than the others because it will get used more - good idea from a costs viewpoint. Don't be swayed either by a 'small footprint' meaning the printer is tidy on your desk; smaller printer usually means smaller toner cartridges and they run out quicker. It is most economical to retain the same mechanical bits of the toner cartridge for the largest box of toner powder possible- each time you have to change a toner you throw away these mechanical bits as well - expensive.

Hewlett Packard manufacture excellent quality Colour printers, the original and brilliant 4550, has given way to a host of newer and cheaper models. These have become progressively more flimsy and 'plasticy' and it has to be said they are cheaper and print with superb colour rendition. Ok they only cost £200 plus but when they fail, just out of warranty it isn't so easy then to 'junk' them and it is so horribly eco UNfriendly.

If your are looking for high quality A3 sized colour printers- we can supply little-used refurbished models at a fraction of new printer costs.

Again we will give you free impartial advice on this subject.
